What We Do
The Central City Stompers are a Connecticut-based Jazz Band bringing the spirit of classic American jazz to life with every performance. Led by local legend and Galvanized Jazz Band founder Art Hovey, the group delivers an energetic mix of Dixieland, swing, and beloved tunes from the Great American Songbook, all with a style that feels both timeless and refreshingly alive.
Known for their easy charm and toe-tapping rhythms, the Stompers create an atmosphere that’s equal parts nostalgia and celebration, whether they’re setting the tone for a lively event or drawing a crowd onto the dance floor. True to their motto, “Good Time Jazz in the American Tradition,” they don’t just play music, they invite audiences to experience it.
